Rooted in craft. Built on community.

Our Story

🌿 Our Beginning

Our story began in the fall of 2018, when our family discovered a piece of land that felt like home the moment we stepped onto it. We dreamed of building a place where craft beverages were grown, made, and shared right here on the farm—a place where community and connection came first.

🍇 Planting the First Vines

That dream took root the following spring during our first planting party. Family and friends traveled from up and down the East Coast to help us plant 1,080 vines in just one weekend. Their hands, laughter, and hard work became part of the foundation of what Southern Revere Cellars would become.

🍷 Opening Our Doors

We opened in December 2021 with a simple mission: to welcome everyone to gather, slow down, and enjoy the beauty of this land through the wines and beers we craft here. From restoring historic pieces for our Tasting Barn to perfecting recipes late into the night, every detail has been shaped with care. This place is our family’s story—and we’re grateful to share it with you.

🌱 Growing the Farm

Since opening, the farm has continued to grow right alongside our community. We’ve doubled the size of our vineyard, planting more than 1,000 additional vines and introducing two new varietals. Today, we grow Chambourcin, Chardonel, Vidal Blanc, and Petit Verdot—each one tended with intention and rooted in this land.

🍺 Expanding the Experience

We’ve added an outdoor bar with seven beer taps and covered seating to welcome guests during our largest events. A spacious tent now hosts private celebrations, gatherings, and milestone moments. Our calendar has filled with annual signature events that have become traditions for our guests and our team.

🤝 Community at the Heart

Community has always been at the center of Southern Revere. We host fundraisers for local youth sports, the Louisa Resource Council, and other organizations that make a difference here at home. Our local customers have truly become family—joining us for road cleanups twice a year, helping with grape harvest each fall, and supporting every new chapter of our journey.

🛢️ Craft, Collaboration & Creativity

We’ve begun barrel‑aging projects in partnership with Virginia distilleries, exploring new expressions of flavor and craft. And our partnership with From the Farm Food Truck—owned and operated by Chris Grime, Paula and Jason’s brother—has deepened our connection to local food and family.

🌾 Looking Ahead

Every step forward has been shaped by the same spirit that started it all: community, craft, and a shared love for this land. We’re honored to continue growing this place with the people who make it feel like home.

Where did the name Southern Revere come from?

Southern Revere Jack Jouett

Jack Jouett, the Paul Revere of the South

Southern Revere is named after local Virginia folk hero, Jack Jouett, who during the Revolutionary War, made a daring 40-mile dash on horseback to Monticello, the home of Virginia Governor, Thomas Jefferson, to sound the alarm that British forces were on their way to capture the Founding Father. We have it on good authority that Jack Jouett, later dubbed the Paul Revere of the South, used to frequent his father’s Louisa tavern.

So, in homage to local history and Jack’s proclivity for superior libations, Southern Revere celebrates our road’s namesake by being Rooted in Tradition, Crafted with Ambition.

Come, cheers today with us!
